Pavel Stratan is a singer-songwriter from Moldova, known for his unique style, ironic approach and everyday stories turned into music. Born on 11 September 1970 in Cotiujenii Mari, Şoldăneşti, he developed a personal style built on guitar, humour and social observation.
Pavel Stratan achieved major success with “Eu beau”, the first song from Romania or Moldova to surpass one million sales in a single country, quickly making him a household name across the Romanian-speaking world.
His music features narrative lyrics, subtle irony, modern folk elements and chanson influences, tackling themes of everyday life, human relationships and rural-urban contrasts. This formula set him clearly apart from the mainstream artists of his era.
